Jass is the former crimefighting partner of Triple Threat, herself now known as Master Billy Quizboy's mother Rose Whalen. He had ties to the original Team Venture in the 1960s, with Colonel Gentleman apparently developing a crush on him.
Character History[]
In Season 5, Episode 8[1] we learn that Rose Whalen was known by the superhero persona Triple Threat in her youth and partnered with the crimefighter Jass.
A flashback to the mid-'60s shows the supervillain Brainulo forcing members of the original Team Venture to fight their "crushes", with The Action Man having to fight Triple Threat and Colonel Gentleman having to fight Jass.
Appearances[]
- The Devil's Grip (flashback)
Trivia[]
- Colonel Gentleman's description of Jass: "He’s like a blade of sexual grass swaying in the breeze! Arrow straight, believe it or not."
- His superhero name comes from an antiquated pronunciation of "jazz", which Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer took from the 2001 Ken Burns documentary series "Jazz".[2]
- Triple Threat and Jass both dress like dancers and incorporate classic Broadway dance moves into their fighting styles, a nod to legendary dance couple Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.[2]
- It is not specified whether Jass and Triple Threat were romantic partners or merely platonic.
- Rumored to be the real father of Master Billy Quizboy, though this has not been confirmed.
