Fell to his death

Haranguetan (real name: Ronnie) was a highly-ranked member of The Guild of Calamitous Intent. Shortly after Dr. Rusty Venture inherited VenTech Tower from his late brother, Haranguetan was sub-contracted by Wide Wale to arch Dr. Venture as part of the latter's Fiends and Family Plan.

Haranguetan appeared to be human, but with some simian traits. According to his wife Battleaxe, he had terrible-smelling breath.

The name "haranguetan" is derived from the word "harangue"- meaning "to insult, verbally abuse or harass" and "orangutan"- a type of great ape.

History[]

Haranguetan was sub-contracted to arch Dr. Venture by Wide Wale - Venture's primary arch - even though Venture and Haranguetan had never met. Haranguetan arrived at VenTech Tower and took Sgt. Hatred hostage, holding him at gunpoint on the sidewalk in front of the building. Haranguetan demanded that Dr. Venture face him, and allowed Hatred to call for help. Hatred called Brock Samson, who quickly arrived.

Haranguetan released Hatred, then demanded that Hatred strike him. Hatred punched Haranguetan in the face, knocking one of his teeth out. Pleased with the opportunity to inflict violence, Haranguetan grabbed Hatred and head-butted him multiple times, eventually knocking Hatred unconscious.

Haranguetan then turned his attention to Brock, revealing that his gun was not loaded and demanding more hand-to-hand combat. While Haranguetan engaged Brock in verbal sparring, he was approached from behind by Warriana (who happened to be in the area). Warriana knocked Haranguetan unconscious with one blow, which annoyed Brock.

Later that night, Haranguetan returned to VenTech Tower. He was purposefully dosed with Dr. Venture's experimental God Gas, which was allowed by guild rules because Haranguetan was arching Dr. Venture, however in the process Brock Sampson and Billy Quizboy Whalen were also dosed with God Gas; and all three of them hallucinated because of the God Gas. He perceived Master Billy Quizboy as a demonic entity and prepared to throw him down the deep hole that had been left in the VenTech Tower lobby by Wide Wale's earlier invasion.

Haranguetan was stopped by The Monarch and Henchman 21, who were disguised as the Blue Morpho and Kano. 21 grabbed Billy away from Haranguetan, then knocked Haranguetan into the hole. Haranguetan died from the impact.

The next day, Haraguetan's body was removed from the hole, and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch was put in the position of informing Haraguetan's widow Battleaxe of his death. Later that night, she attempted to avenge her husband by attacking Dr. Venture (who she assumed was the Blue Morpho) but ended up crashing the Haranguetank, which exploded in the same hole in which her husband died. Battleaxe survived but suffered a broken neck and bruises.

Equipment and Paraphernalia[]

Haranguetan owned and operated out of an armored recreational vehicle called the Haranguetank. He kept a large supply of liquor (mostly whiskey) in it, as well as a supply of inexpensive Chinese cigarettes.
